With the pattern updated I am back to work at the actual cross stitch, but it’s currently slow going. With the pattern updated it is really becoming clear just how scattered the stitches I’m working on are now. I am currently scanning through the pattern, adding one or two stitches of brown every few dozen squares, which isn’t a lot but it will be annoying when I inevitable figure out I’ve missed something later on. There are some larger sections still, but I’m already anticipating that I might fudge some of the missing squares when it comes time to finish this section by just putting the nearest color into the missing spots rather than going back in with the actual missing color. One good thing about large, complex patterns is that with the shading involved it can be easier to cover up a mistake, so long as the change looks natural. I’ve done it before, and looking at how large the pattern is, there is a good chance I will do it again.
For the audio book “Murder at Melrose Court”, we’ve found a few more clues about the main character, their interactions with the murder victim, and complications with the police inspector who thinks the main character is the murderer. I can already see how messy this whole murder investigation may get with the way the main character and constable are politely (and not so politely) insulting each other. I am also getting more and more convinced about my thought on who the perpetrator is. I still have not receved any actual proof or incriminatng evidence, which means my hunch is more or less coasting on vibes and my own writing history in what I think would make a good twist. I am ready and fully expecting to be wrong, but if I can complete the audio book by our next update we’ll find out if I’m on the money or way off.
