Mid-month Middle Earth 15

This is not going to be a terribly cool update, because it’s just an update of beige. It’s important – the connective tissue that carries you on. But not terribly exciting as far as things to look at. Until I move into a new section most updates are probably going to be some sort of update on what shade of brown, cream, or not-pink I’m working on currently so this part of the update may be pretty short. Unless something goes wrong, which fingers crossed won’t happen.

As far as audio books goes since I was so busy over the holidays I switched from a murder mystery that needs attention and uninterrupted time to listen to an audio book that can be listened to in short snatches without loosing the plot. Currently I am listening to The Drunken Botanist by Amy Stewart, a history on the plants that go into alcohol. I’m not a particularly big drinker, but I am fascinated by plants, food, and food history so it’s very interesting to me on a historical and botanical side. I’ve completed the first section which talked about the main plant ingredients that go into making alcohol such as agave, rice, and wheat and the history of their use in alcohol making. I’m currently making my way through the herb section where they talk about plants that are often added to alcohol to change the flavor of the final product, such as ginger, caraway and juniper. If you have any interest in food history, botany, or alcohol (If you’re drinking responsibly I won’t judge) then I think you would be interested in picking up the book for a casual read (or listen).
