Have you ever made a project that looked really cool, but even when you started it you already knew you didn’t need it?
I’m currently working on a zig zag crochet cover for a pillow. I had excess green yarn in two shades and I decided, why not? The pattern looks cool and even though I’m not using any of the colors that the original pattern calls for I though the yarn looks nice together. I’d even go so far as to say that the colors look fit for the festive season. Mostly I’m interested in working on the pattern, seeing how it works up and how the crochet stitches are combined to make the design. I’v gotten the actual crochet pieces finished (pictured above) and now I need to stitch them together and get the actual pillow portion put together. Eventually.
I’ve never made a pillow cover before, and do not have any round pillows that need a cover. Heck, I don’t even have all that much space for another pillow on either my couch or a bed. There’s always the option of giving the pillow as a gift, but I don’t have anyone I know that is either in need of a pillow or who would accept me just showing up and going “surprise!”
That is one of the problems that come with not having a lot of space for crafting: you get wonderful ideas and then have no where to put them except for a storage bin. hopefully that won’t be the ending for this pillow cover. I’m sure there is someone out there who would like it, and I’ll probably find them once the pillow cover is completed. It is the holiday season after all, and this is the best time to give gifts.
Speaking of gifts, since it is Christmas Eve I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! May you have a warm and wonderful time with family and friends.
